Roles
After more than 19 years at the University of Tripoli as a lecturer, I am now working full-time as an associate professor (teaching and research) in the faculty of science - department of chemistry.
My main roles are as a researcher and supervisor of research projects for BSc and MSc students and as a lecturer. I am published several papers in local and international journals.
I am working on research with different colleagues from the University of Tripoli, the Polymer Research Center and the Plasma Center of the National Commission for Scientific Research at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the faculty of science, University of Safaxs, Tunisia.
I am currently working as Chairman of the Graduate Studies Committee in the chemistry department, faculty of science, and coordinator of the practical chemistry general chemistry course for college of engineering students, chairman of the Scientific Instruments Committee of the chemistry department and member of the scientific instruments committee of the University of chemistry.
Careers
Before joining the University of Tripoli, I worked for many years from 1996 to 2003 at the Technical Research Center and held a second chemist job. In the year 01-08-2003, I moved to the University of Tripoli as a member of staff with the degree of Assistant Lecturer, in 2011 I obtained a PhD from the Cardiff University in United Kingdom, in 2012 I returned to work at the University of Tripoli with the degree of Lecturer, in 2015 I was promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor, in 2020 I was promoted to the degree of Associate Professor.
Research Interests
Over the past nineteen years, I worked on evaluating a review of local scientific journals, a reviewer of textbooks in the field of physical chemistry, an evaluator of master's theses (as an external examiner), and an external evaluator for the promotion of faculty members from outside the University of Tripoli.
External Activities
Research interests me wide and varied in the branches of chemistry, but mainly focused on physical chemistry and its applications in the environment, as well as in green chemistry, nanochemistry and organic solar cells. I currently have a number of papers under publication, and I working on projects in a range of fields, including adsorption using plant leaves to purify water, studying the stability of nutritional vitamins, and preparing and studying the optical and electrical properties of some nanoparticles used in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.
