Abdurrazagh Ahmed Ezzeddin is a faculty member in the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science. Mr. Ezzeddin has been a lecturer at the University of Tripoli since March 20, 1997, and has published several scientific publications in his field. During my career, I have been assigned the following tasks:

• January 1980 – October 1982: Teaching Assistant, University of Tripoli, Department of Geophysics.
• July 1991 – December 1992: Lecturer, Nasser University, Department of Geosciences.
• January 1997 – June 1998: Lecturer, Department of Geophysics, University of Tripoli. March
• 2011 – Present: Lecturer, Department of Geophysics, University of Tripoli.
• September 2011 – 2021: Study and Exam Coordinator, Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science, University of Tripoli.
• July 2021 – Present: Head of the Geophysics Department.

Careers

After I graduated from the Geophysical Engineering Department at the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering in June 1979, I was appointed to the Petroleum Research Center of the National Oil Corporation in the capital, Tripoli, Libya, as a research assistant in the Exploration Department. Then I was appointed as a teaching assistant in the Geophysical Engineering Department in January 1980, and I was performing the duties of a teaching assistant following up on students. In laboratory activities as well as field operations, and how to use the equipment we have in the laboratories. We give practical lessons in the laboratory, then apply and take readings in the open courtyards of the university.

After obtaining a postgraduate diploma in applied geophysics from McGill University in Canada, and after that I obtained a master’s degree from Laval University in Canada, after which I taught the basic courses and the research was entitled “Extrapolation and Interpolation of Gravimetric Data using The Geostatistical Approach (Universal Kriging)"

After that, I taught the basic courses in the gravity method and also supervised and followed up on the graduation projects of bachelor’s degree students.

When I obtained my doctorate from the Malaysian University of Medicine, the title of the research was “Seismic Modeling of Subsurface structure Geological of Al-kuf Field, Sirt Basin, Libya,” and I was assigned advanced courses in the department. To teach students how to apply the computer to geophysical exploration methods in the field of seismic exploration and gravitational exploration.

Research Interests

As for the current interests in scientific research, it can be summarized in the interest in research in the field of three-dimensional seismic exploration, and the use of computer applications in interpreting seismic information. The development of global scientific research in the field of seismic modeling enables the researcher to control several factors that affect the interpretation of seismic information, especially in regions where there are complex geological structures. Also, seismic modeling technology can be used in fields where there are dry wells.

External Activities

Regarding interests outside the university, I participate from time to time in seminars and workshops held by the Libyan National Oil Corporation in the capital Tripoli, and I also participate in workshops conducted by some new oil companies seeking to obtain an exploration concession in Libyan territory. I also from time to time give specialized scientific lectures outside the university, in some forums and clubs, and I also participate in some activities carried out by civil society institutions, and I also participate in some groups in social media..
