Dr. Muftah Abu Aisha is a valued member of the Geophysics Department at the College of Science. He has been a dedicated faculty member at the University of Tripoli since 1982, teaching geophysical engineering in the Dep. In recognition of his expertise and contributions, he was promoted to the position of associate professor in 2010. Mr. Muftah has also made significant contributions to his field, with numerous scientific publications focusing on geoelectric. Additionally, he has assumed the role of heading the Geophysics Department from 2007 to 2010.
Dr. Muftah has taken on various responsibilities within the Department of Geophysics. From 2003 to 2009, he served as the coordinator of studies and examinations, ensuring smooth operations and proper assessment of students. Currently, he holds the position of graduate studies coordinator, playing a crucial role in guiding and overseeing the academic progress of graduate students in the department.
Careers
After completing his doctoral studies at Charles University in Czechia more than three decades ago, Mr. Muftah Abu Aisha currently holds a full-time position as a faculty member in the Department of Geophysics. Throughout his career, he has served in various capacities, including Assistant Lecturer from 1989 to 1993, Lecturer from 1993 to 1995, Assistant Professor from 2011 to 2017, and Associate Professor from 2010 until 2023. At Tripoli University, he contributes to the Department of Geophysics by teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Moreover, he also collaborates with the Department of Mining Engineering and serves as the coordinator for graduate studies in the Department of Geophysics.
Research Interests
Dr. Muftah is currently dedicated to the field of electrical exploration in both two and three dimensions, along with its practical applications in civil engineering and other related fields. Furthermore, he has a special focus on investigating the depths of underground water reservoirs by utilizing established electrical techniques to track the layers that contain the water.
External Activities
Dr. Muftah has been involved in reviewing and overseeing numerous research papers published in various scientific journals. He has also served as a reviewer for several master's theses focused on the subject of geophysics. Additionally, his active participation in various local scientific conferences showcases his dedication to staying engaged in the scientific community.
