Professor Wafaa has been working as a faculty member at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences - Tajoura - in the Department of Arabic Language since 2020, after transferring from the Faculty of Medical Sciences - Tripoli - affiliated with Technical Education, where she has been a faculty member since 2006.
She teaches subjects in the field of literature, and has combined years of experience between teaching, scientific research and some administrative positions. She has taught the subjects: Semantics, Rhetoric, Prosody, Andalusian Literature, Modern Literature, Comparative Literature, Islamic and Umayyad Literature.
She also taught General Arabic at the Faculty of Medical Sciences - Tripoli.
She teaches Arabic as a collaborator in most of the faculties of the University of Tripoli, such as the Faculty of Medical Technology, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Hindi, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Languages, and the Faculty of Arts.
She held administrative positions: Head of the Activities Department at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Tripoli. She also held the position of Head of the General Department and Coordinator of the General Department’s subjects. She also held the position of Coordinator of Studies and Examinations at the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences.
Careers
Before joining higher education, the professor worked as a faculty member in general education at the Bright Star School in Tripoli for ten years, from 1996 to 2006.
Where Professor Wafaa Abu Bakr Al-Shuwairf joined higher education by the appointment decision issued by the Secretary of the General People's Committee for Higher Education, which bears the number (207) for the year 2006, so she held the position of
Faculty member at the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences, which was later transformed into the College of Medical Sciences - Tripoli - until 2022, until the decision was issued to transfer her to the College of Sharia Sciences in Tajoura, in 2020, in which she had cooperated for two consecutive years 2020 AD/2021 AD, 2021 AD/2022 AD, and in the middle of the academic year, she obtained a transfer decision issued by the President of the University of Tripoli issued under the number (4180) for the year 2022 AD for the college, so she worked as a faculty member
Research Interests
Professor Wafaa has a number of research interests. She is classified as a researcher in the field of literature and has some published research. She also supervised a number of graduation researches and has a published research entitled: The Short Story by Nadra Al-Awiti. There are also researches in print, including: Quranic Rhetoric by Al-Dimashqi, and a research entitled The Libyan Feminist Pen in the Novel. She was also a member of the jury in the short story competition in the Damascus neighborhood schools.
