Dr. Bashir Mohamed Bashir Sherif has been a faculty member in the Department of Animal Production since 2006 and obtained a doctorate in the field of poultry physiology in 2018. He teaches Zoology, poultry physiology, animal physiology, hatchery management and introduction to animal production. He is interested in physiology and nutrition research in poultry and has many published papers in this field.

Dr. Bashir Sherif held several positions and committees in the department:

• He worked in the year 2019 in the Study and Examinations Committee in the department, and the Examinations Monitoring Committee in the college.
• Chairman of the Postgraduate Studies Committee in the department from 2019 until now. 
• The quality coordinator in the department in 2022.
• He also currently works as a member of the educational process development committee.
• Member of the department’s strategic plan development committee.
• Member of the committee supervising the poultry research station at the College of Agriculture research stations.
• He also participates periodically in the committee for evaluating graduation projects for undergraduate students in the department.

Careers

Dr. Bashir Sherif worked as a teaching assistant in the Animal Production Department from 2002-2006, then he obtained a master's degree in Animal Production Sciences in 2006 and worked as an assistant lecturer from 2006-2008. He obtained a Ph.D. from Alexandria University in the field of poultry physiology in 2018 and worked as a lecturer in the Animal Production Department from 2019-2022, then worked as an assistant professor from 2022 until now.

Research Interests

Dr. Bashir Sherif is interested in areas of research related to poultry physiology and food additives in feed and their effects on productive performance, immunity and biochemical parameters in blood. He is also interested in physiological research in the field of hormones in poultry. He published a number of scientific research in this field in specialized scientific journals and conferences, Journal of Pure & Applied sciences, Journal of Misurata University for Agricultural Sciences, Open Veterinary Journal, and the Second Scientific Conference on Agricultural Sciences and Animal Production at Misurata University.

He also has research papers (in the process) in the Journal of the Arab American University and the Turkish Journal of Agriculture - Food Science and Technology

External Activities

Dr. Bashir Sherif worked as a collaborating lecturer in universities and higher institutes, namely the Western Mountain University, Altahdi University, and the Higher Institute of Science and Technology.

He worked on evaluating a lot of scientific research in the field of poultry at the Second Scientific Conference of Agricultural Sciences and Animal Production and the Libyan Journal of Agricultural Sciences.
