- Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the First Scientific Conference of the Department of Libraries and Information, entitled Libraries in Libya: Reality and Future Prospective, held on November 28-29, 2022 AD.

- Member of the Libyan Association for Libraries, Information and Archives since 2014 AD.

- Head of the Library and Information Department from November 30, 2022 AD until October 30, 2023 AD.

Careers

Mr. Bin Nouba obtained a bachelor’s degree in science and education, specializing in libraries and information, from the College of Education (currently Arts) in the academic year 1997/1998, with a very good overall average and the first in the class. He was appointed as a teaching assistant in the Department of Libraries and Information at the College of Arts/University of Tripoli in 1999. His first start of work was on 1/1/2000.

- He joined postgraduate studies and obtained a master’s degree in 2005, and his status was changed to a faculty member in the Department of Libraries and Information and the academic rank (assistant lecturer) in the same year 2005 AD.

- He was sent abroad to prepare for his doctoral degree in 2008, and obtained his doctorate in 2012 with an excellent general grade and first class honors from Helwan University / Egypt. He began working in the department on 3/1/2013 and obtained the academic degree (lecturer) in 2013 AD. He obtained the academic degree (assistant professor) in 2017 AD, and then the degree of associate professor on November 30, 2022 AD.

- He taught many courses in the field of specialization, at the university level, and supervised an academic’s graduation projects since he joined the department as a teaching assistant until now, in addition to teaching courses in postgraduate studies, and academic supervision of a number of scientific theses (master’s) for postgraduate students, From 2018 until now.

The most important research interests are the following topics:

Information services in various information institutions

Electronic information sources and their role in supporting scientific research

Information technology in libraries and other information facilities, specifically related to information systems specialized in the field of libraries and information

External Activities

- He held the position of library specialist (collaborator) in the Beit Nouji Culture Library in the Old City Administration Authority - Tripoli, 1999-2001 AD.

- He held the position of library specialist (collaborator) at the National Central Library in (1998-1999).

He contributed to the technical organization and classification of book collections in many school libraries in the city of Tripoli in the period between 2000 AD and 2004 AD.

Attending and participating in many cultural events and activities related to the field of specialization and profession inside and outside the country.
