He assumed the presidency of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the College of Arts and Media during the period from 2008 to 2010 , then he worked as head of the Directing and Acting Program in the Department of Dramatic Arts from 2018 to date. He also worked as director of the Office of Faculty Affairs at the College of Arts and Media during the period from 10/7/2021. Until 4/30/2023 . He currently heads the Research and Consulting Department at the College of Arts from 6/4/2023 until today, in addition to chairing the college’s Disciplinary Committee

Careers

Before joining the University of Tripoli, he previously worked as a member of the teaching staff at the Jamal al-Din al-Miladi Institute for Music and Theater, after obtaining first place in the 1990/1991 batch at the institute, where he taught directing during the period from 1996 to 2008, in addition to heading the Department of Dramatic Arts. During the same period, he served as Assistant Director of the Institute for Theater Affairs,He was also a member and rapporteur of the permanent advisory committee formed by the Ministry of Culture for the purpose of developing the institute and its curricula. He then joined the graduate studies program at the University of Tripoli, where he obtained a diploma in postgraduate studies in theater arts - University of Tripoli/ first place in the first batch in 2003 AD with a very good general grade, then obtained a Master’s degree in theatrical directing, first batch, at the Faculty of Arts and Media - University of Tripoli in 2007. She also obtained a doctorate degree in cultural sciences / specialization in theater and performing arts with a very honorable grade / from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Art / University of Tunisia in 2017.

Research Interests

He is interested in studying the dramatic arts in general and focuses on studying the performing arts and means of developing them in particular. He has published a group of scientific research in this context in peer-reviewed scientific journals within the university. He is also interested in issues of experimentation in theatrical performance, as he supports his academic research with practical experience through directing and presenting theatrical performances. In this context, he participated, upon invitation from the Ministry of Culture, in the expanded symposium on developing the Libyan theater industry in 2012.

External Activities

Firstly. The theater

• He directed for the theater (The Journey of Handhala) 1997, (The Moment) 2004, (The Cage 1) 2005 , (The Cage 2) 2013 , (A Time of Glass) 2016 , and (The House of Madness) 2018 .

• He participated in many international theater festivals, such as the Cairo Festival for Experimental Theater in the years 1993  - 2001  - 2005 , and in the Carthage Theater Days in Tunisia in the years 1993  - 2013 , as well as in the First Scientific Forum for Arab Theater in Cairo in the year 1994 , and the Arab Theater Festival in Jordan in the year 2020 .

• He wrote a script for an experiment on street theater entitled (Al-Zarda), which was produced by the British Council in Libya in 2012 .

• Member of the jury at the ERATO Human Rights Film Festival - second session 2018.

secondly. Television

• Experience in the field of documentary works, where he worked as an assistant director in the documentary works (Ports on the Shatt al-Hurriya), (The Gates of Africa) and (Yabi’), which were produced by the Media Services Company between the years 1989-1990 . He also worked as an executive director in the documentary film (Future Horizons). Produced by the Investment Promotion Authority in Libya in 2007.

• In the field of dramatic works, he worked as an assistant director in the TV evening show (The Night Visitor), produced by Libyan TV in 2002 , as well as in the comedy series (Hadrazi), produced by Libyan TV in 2006 , and also as an assistant director in the series (Libyat), produced by Libyan TV channel in 2008 , and as an executive director. In the series (On the Air), produced by Libyan TV, 2010 .

• Preparing and directing the series (You are Yahoo), produced by the General Authority for Drama, Theater and Arts, 2021 .

• Script and direction of the series (Nas and Donia), produced by Al-Wataniya Channel 2022 .

• He supervised the preparation of the actors in the series (Al-Sirah Al-Amriya), produced by Channel 218 in the year 2022 .

• He supervised the preparation and training of actors in the series (Al-Najdain), produced by Al-Massar Channel in 2023 .
