Roles
Daoud is a faculty member in the Department of Interior Design at Art College. Mr. Daoud has been working at the University of Tripoli since 2015-12-31. He took over as head of Head of the Interior Design Department for two semesters which were Spring 2016 and Fall 2016-2017. He also taught many courses and supervised many graduation projects. Mr. Tarhuni was also assigned to many committees, including as a member of the Academic Program Preparation Committee for the Interior Design Department, which was submitted to the University Presidency to promote The Interior Design Division which was under The Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the college into independent department, and there was a ministerial decision issued for that in 2022. Mr. Daoud was also assigned as a member of the Equivalency Committee in the Interior Design Department and a member of the Disciplinary Committee at the college, in addition to participating in many committees those supervised on the exhibitions and participations of the Interior Design Department inside and outside the college.
Careers
Daoud has been a faculty member in the Interior Design Department since 2015, Also he served as a part time faculty member between 2013 and 2015. He served as the Head of the Interior Design Department for the Spring 2016 and Fall 2016-2017 semesters. His career has included teaching many courses, including (Interior Design 2 - Furniture Design - Lighting and Sound - Executive Drawings - Architectural Drawing - Specialized Terminology - Computer Applications - Quantity and Cost Accounting) and other courses, in addition to supervising many graduation projects.
Research Interests
One of the most important types of research which Mr. Daoud has interested on is that related to the extent of the influence and impact of the interior design specialization on the daily life of the human and their activities and practices in the different interior spaces, as well as the impact of the interior design of residential spaces and public facilities on the psychological and behavioral aspect of the user. In addition to that he is interested in the historical aspect of the interior design specialization, especially in documenting the interior elements of the different historical buildings in our country, Libya, where his master's thesis was about the interior elements of the traditional houses in the old city of Ghadames. Another important research interest of Mr. Tarhuni is following up on the technological developments related to the field of specialization, because as it is known that the interior design specialization is closely linked to the materials and raw materials that go into the design and implementation processes, which develop rapidly and accompany the technological development going on in the world.
External Activities
Daoud has participated in many external activities related to the interior design specialization, especially those activities that contribute practically to introducing the interior design specialization and its importance for social activities in general, as well as the importance of its graduates for the labor market. Among the most important activities in which he participated are the exhibitions held by the Interior Design Department outside the university in several forums and occasions, such as his participation in the Libya Construction Exhibition in several sessions and other participations, the most recent of which was his participation in the Arkan Al-Bayt Exhibition, which was held at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds in February 2024. Mr. Daoud also contributed to many workshops that were held with students, whether to introduce the department and specialization or to introduce students to the fields of work in private and public companies and institutions.
