Research Interests
Being chairman of REAOL for about seven years working hard to indigenize renewable energy in Libya, was enough to be involved in all aspects of energy. Strategic planning, regulatory framework formulation, grid studies, calculation of feed-in tariffs, evaluation of project proposals, proposing incentives, development of financing mechanism, and introducing independent power producer (IPP) and special purpose companies (SPVs) to improve electricity sector;
· With the aid of sound germen consultant a strategic plan for renewable energy for Libya were done. Several team works included me and few of REAOL staff contributed in several tasks such as:-
· Proposing a plan to improve electrical sector;
· Furnish the first drafts to Libyan law for renewable energy;
· Complete several documents regarding forming of special purpose companies, SPVs, and improving investment regulations and laws.
Some of these activities were done with the aid of worldwide organization working in this area.
· Being the Libyan representative in few of international organizations, open a window to understand how these organizations work and how well they are organized.
Working in teams and distribute the tasks among the participants is one of the knowledge gained. The number of workshops, seminars and training session they organized were diverse and covered vast topics related to renewable energy;
· As a part of my work at the university, teaching and research were the main activity. Preparing and improving the curriculum and organizing the conferences also among the activities as a staff member.
