Temporary Suspension of Scientific Article Submissions
The submission of scientific articles has been temporarily suspended until June 10, 2025, in preparation for Issue No. 19.
A peer-reviewed scientific journal focused on publishing
The Journal of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science is a peer-reviewed, biannual journal published by the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at the University of Tripoli – Libya. It is issued in both Arabic and English. The journal focuses on publishing scientific and applied research studies, as well as book and journal summaries, academic theses (master's and doctoral), and reports from conferences, seminars, and workshops held both within and outside Libya.
The journal adheres to an ethical charter governing its publication rules, along with internal regulations that organize the peer-review process. It follows the formal and substantive standards of internationally refereed academic journals when selecting its content.
The journal aims to publish scientific and intellectual research that adopts rigorous academic standards in various branches of economic knowledge. Its goal is to contribute to building a modern and effective economic thought among Arab economists, supporting scientific and practical economic development.
The journal covers a wide range of current economic issues in both the global and Arab economies, including but not limited to:
Economic policies (monetary, fiscal, trade, and foreign exchange policies)
International coordination of macroeconomic policies
Development policies and strategies and their financing in developing and emerging countries
Issues of poverty, unemployment, and social justice
Economic diversification and potential alternatives
Crises (financial, banking, currency, sovereign debt, etc.)
Financial institutions, financial markets, and reform of the financial sector
Economic blocs and integration into the global economy
International financial institutions and reform of the global monetary and financial system
Financial wars
Forecasting trends in the Arab and global economy and shifts in global economic power
Global credit rating agencies
Food and energy security
Renewable energy
Service economy
Knowledge economy
Multinational corporations and their growing role in the global economy
Islamic economics and finance
Economics and ethics
The journal also allocates space for critical studies that challenge prevailing economic thought, neoliberalism, and globalization issues, as well as for presenting new theories, ideas, and alternatives in global economics. It also welcomes conference and seminar reports and reviews of recent economic books with commentary.
The author must submit a signed declaration (as per the designated form) stating that the submitted work has not been previously published in any form, is not under review elsewhere, and is not a summary of previously published research.
All submitted work is subject to screening via authorized software to detect any violations of intellectual property laws (plagiarism) to ensure academic integrity.
In cases of proven intellectual property violations, the submission will be permanently rejected from publication.
Submissions must be uploaded through the journal’s website in Microsoft Word format under Windows OS.
The editorial board reserves the right to conduct an initial review to determine whether a submission is suitable for peer review or should be rejected.
The editorial board may request any documents necessary to complete the initial or peer-review process, such as (but not limited to): statistical analysis forms, completed survey sheets, reports, etc.
Authors must complete the journal’s identification form, which includes essential contact details.
Submissions are accepted only during the periods stated in the official announcement for manuscript submissions.
Submissions should be sent via the journal’s official email address.
Priority is given to applied (practical) research, especially studies addressing current issues relevant to Libya.
The order of publication is determined based on technical considerations set by the editorial board.
All views expressed in the submitted work are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the journal.
The journal’s ethics and publishing standards include the following principles:
Ethical responsibility is the foundation of the conduct of authors, the editorial board, and the journal’s management with regard to all published content, submissions, and interactions with readers, stakeholders, and other institutional partners.
Adherence to established academic integrity standards in publishing, including the protection of authors’ intellectual rights and the journal’s rights as a primary stakeholder. All parties must voluntarily commit to honesty, integrity, transparency, clarity, accuracy, impartiality, objectivity, and respectful citation of prior scholarly work.
Safeguarding the confidentiality of individuals who contributed data for research purposes and refraining from disclosing any personally identifiable information if doing so may cause them harm.
Following legal procedures in cases involving falsification, plagiarism, or any infringement on others’ intellectual property or academic integrity. Public disclosure or defamation is strictly prohibited until such cases are legally confirmed.
