About the Journal

The Libyan Journal of Science is an international journal, published biannually by the Faculty of Science, University of Tripoli, Libya. The scope of the Journal is to publish original and novel scientific research papers in all different fields of science, pure and applied. Papers which have not been previously published or currently submitted elsewhere will be considered for publication.

Journal Policy

1. Aims and Scope

The Libyan Journal of Science (LJS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research across all branches of science, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, computer science, and applied sciences. The journal aims to support the dissemination of scientific knowledge and promote scholarly communication both regionally and internationally.

2. Publication Frequency

LJS publishes biannually, with issues released in June and December. Additional special issues may be published at the discretion of the editorial board.

3. Manuscript Submission

Authors must submit manuscripts electronically via the journal’s online submission system. All submissions must comply with the formatting and ethical guidelines outlined in the Instructions for Authors.

4. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening, followed by double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts. The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks. Final decisions are based on reviewer feedback and editorial judgment.

5. Ethical Standards

LJS adheres to international ethical publishing standards. Authors must ensure:
- Originality of submitted work.
- Proper attribution and citation.
- Disclosure of conflicts of interest.
- Ethical approval for studies involving humans or animals.

6. Open Access Policy

All articles published in LJS are freely accessible. Authors retain copyright of their work.

7. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Currently, LJS does not charge any submission or publication fees.

8. Plagiarism and Misconduct

LJS uses plagiarism detection software to screen submissions. Any instance of plagiarism or unethical behavior may result in rejection or retraction, depending on severity.

9. Archiving and Indexing

Published articles are digitally archived in institutional and national repositories. Efforts are ongoing to index LJS in international databases to increase its visibility and impact.

10. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently by the editorial board, free from commercial or political influence.
