Word Of the Head General Stage



The college currently includes seven departments: Arabic, English, translation, French, Italian, Spanish, and Afroasiatic, and in this spring semester (2023) the Russian language department was activated, as these departments contribute through their academic programs and their good quality in making outputs Educational and academic help in the renaissance of this country and its bright future.

Vision

The Faculty of Language always seeks to provide the community with specialists in the fields of teaching modern languages and translation, and participates in covering the labor market requirements of teachers, university professors, translators and linguistic reviewers. It contributes to building bridges of knowledge and cultural communication between peoples.

Mission

Our message is to provide theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of languages and translation, to meet the needs of society with specialists teaching Arabic and English languages to university students in all other faculties. It also provides teaching Arabic to non-native speakers who wish to study in faculties of the university.

Objectives

  • Preparing specialized cadres in modern languages, translation and cultures.
  • Developing students’ skills in the field of language learning, and training in translation.
  • Linking departments' specialties to the needs of the labor market and the requirements of development.
  • Encouraging research, authorship, and investigation of languages ​​and translation.
  • Participating in international conferences in the fields of languages ​​and translation and holding specialized scientific symposiums.
  • Providing expertise and specialized advice to the public and private sectors.
  • Serving the community by undertaking written and oral translation work.
  • Preparing, designing, implementing and reviewing language and translation programs as needed in accordance with university regulations.
  • Implementing courses aimed at various sectors of society, and meeting the need of public institutions for training in the fields of languages ​​and translation.
  • Continuous contact with institutes, colleges and similar bodies in the world to benefit from their experiences in the field of languages and translation.
  • Enriching the translation and Arabization movement into and from Arabic.
  • Granting the specialized bachelor’s degree, as well as paving the way for postgraduate studies by granting masters and doctorate degrees.
  • Reactivating the role of the Division for Teaching Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages, which began in the late 1970s and taught more than fifty nationalities.
