Roles

Mahmoud Ashawesh is one of the staff members at the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences. He started working as an associate lecturer on 2008-09-24. He obtained his MSc degree from Nottingham University, UK in 2007 and got a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the same university in 2017. He teaches several subjects in his major and has publications in the field of his interest. From 2017 to 2022 he was the coordinator of the department examination and study.

Careers

Currently, Dr. Mahmoud Ashawesh is the coordinator of the graduation projects program in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences as well as the diagnostic molecular biology course coordinator in the seventh semester. He teaches the molecular biology and biochemistry 1 courses in the department.

Research Interests

Dr. Mahmoud has some publications in his field of interest (molecular biology). Cloning and PCR are the most scientific specialties. He also has interests in some other fields related to diagnostic microbiology, hematology, and biochemistry. He participated in supervising and completing many student research projects in the department.

External Activities

Member of the Microbiology Society in the United Kingdom, and has participated in many international and local scientific conferences.
