Bachelor in anesthetic technology

University of Tripoli - Department of Anesthetic Technology

Description

The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, one of the most important departments in the college, was established in 2001/2002 AD, with the aim of graduating specialized cadres to work in the field of anesthesia and intensive care, who can work in operating rooms and intensive care units. The graduate of the department obtains a Bachelor’s degree in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care after completing 137 credits over a period of four years.

The student enrolls in the specialized stage, which lasts for three years, in which he studies (35) academic courses, including specialized courses, supporting courses, and (theoretical and practical)elective courses. The department employs a group of specialized faculty members who, in addition to teaching scientific courses, supervise practical and clinical training. Upon completing all the academic courses, the student will go through a practical field training period of six months, during which the student will be trained in educational hospitals to work in operating rooms,

Note: You can view the detailed courses on the pdf file

Objectives

·         Preparing a graduate of a highly qualified specialist who possesses sufficient capabilities and skills based on the latest scientific data and conforms to quality standards.

·         Enable students to acquire the latest knowledge in all areas of specialization and encourage a communication environment between students and faculty members.

·         Preparing leaders and specialists who are able to provide expertise and distinguished competence in innovative learning, scientific research, patient care and community health promotion, through the appointment of highly qualified faculty members who work in an advanced educational environment that would facilitate the provision of the best services to the community.

·         Promoting theoretical and applied medical sciences to keep pace with the needs of the labor market.

Achieving the desired future goals by crowning his scientific career by encouraging enrollment in graduate studies programs in the field of specialization

Outcomes

The educational program of the department was designed according to the latest methods used in developed countries in order to prepare the students of the department and qualify them to be distinguished medical and technical cadres to work in hospitals, sanatoriums and clinics so that they can be relied upon in preparing and following up anesthesia equipment and resuscitation devices and providing care and medical attention to the patient in operating rooms and intensive care units in all Types, emergency departments and dialysis rooms.
