Roles

Dr. Ahlam Elashegh is one of the faculty members in the mathematics department at the faculty of science. From 9/2021 to 3/2022 she qualified for the Quality assurance coordinator in the Mathematics Department. She has been working as a lecturer since 2015. Ahlam's known positions in the department are as a lecturer, academic supervisor for undergraduate students, and a researcher. Also, she is a member of the applied mathematics research group.

Careers

Dr.Ahlam Elashegh's first working steps were as a math teacher for high school seniors, then afterward as a TA in the mathematics department at the university of Tripoli. After that, she got a position as a lecturer assistant. Later she received a scholarship to earn a Ph.D. from the USA. In 2009, she joined the mathematics department at NCSU as a graduate student. During her studies, she worked as a computer consultant to help students with their coursework using MAPLE and MATLAB software. After she earned her Ph.D. certificate, she returned to join the mathematics department at the university of Tripoli as a lecturer.

Research Interests

Dr. Ahlam Elashegh's research interests are in PDEs with boundary conditions, numerical solutions,  and applied mathematics with application in bioengineering
