Research Interests

RESEARCH INTERESTS

·      Synthesis and Characterization of Luminescent Materials, Thermoluminescence, Photoluminescence, Crystal Structure by different techniques  including sol-gel method.

·       Synthesis and Characterization of Thin films by different techniques  including spin coating, spray pyrolysis, thermal evaporation, & electron beam..

·      Synthesis and Characterization of Optical fibers by sol-gel method

·      Thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs.) of material.

·      Spintronic

·      Crystalline solids, some nano-crystals, nano-materials, and all sort of materials.

Experimental Techniques Used

·      Harshaw TLD Reader.

·      Toledo TLD Reader.

·      Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) and Particle-Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE).

·      Analysis of thermoluminescence and Photoluminescence properties.

External Activities

Dr. Fawzia Khamis is a member of the Arab Scientific Forum for Radiation Scientists and Professionals, a member of the Atomic Physics Laboratory at the University of Jordan, a member of the Saudi Physical Scientific Society, as well as the work of Dr. Khamis as an arbitrator in many international scientific journals and as a resident of many promotions for faculty members in Libyan universities . Dr. Khamis supervised master's theses in physics for students from Misurata University and Sebha University.

Dr. Khamis has published 11 scientific papers in several peer-reviewed scientific journals and in local and international conferences.

• April 8, 2023 Giving an online lecture entitled "Self-evaluation of Academic Programs According to International Accreditation Standards - Concepts and Implementation Mechanisms" for Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University / Institute of Technology / Kufa; At the invitation of the National Council for Accreditation of Colleges and Institutes of Health and Medical Technologies; Iraq.
• March 19, 2023: Presented a workshop entitled "Description of Academic Programs and Courses According to Quality Standards" for the College of Science / University of Al-Marqab.
• From December 7 to 10: Participation and attendance of the preliminary stage of the training program "Enhancing the capabilities of peer reviewers to review higher education institutions and programs in accordance with international accreditation standards" held by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council of the Association of Arab Universities in Tunisia.
• November 22, 2022: Giving a scientific lecture entitled "Applications of Differential Equations in Physics" to first-year students in the Department of Mathematics / College of Science / University of Jordan.
• October 26-28: Scientific participation with a research paper in an international conference at Mutah University / Jordan.
• October 10, 2022: Presenting a workshop entitled "Description of Academic Programs According to Quality Standards" for the Faculty of Engineering / University of Tripoli.
