Salma Abusrir is a faculty member in the Department of Zoology, Faculty of Science. Ms. Salma Abusrir has been working at the University of Tripoli as an associate professor since 2020-03-15 and has many scientific publications in her field of specialization.          .      

Careers

From 1984 to 1993, I was a research assistant at the College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a similar role at the College of Science from 1993 to 1995. I worked as a faculty member at the College of Science/University of Tripoli from 1995 to 1999, collaborating with the College of Human Medicine, the Higher Institute of Nursing, and the Higher Institute of Teachers as an assistant lecturer. Then I became a faculty member at the College of Science / University of Tripoli with the rank of lecturer from 2005 to 2016, assistant professor from 2016 to 2020, and associate professor from 2020 to 2024.

Research Interests

My study explores the normal tissues of terrestrial and marine animals and investigates using antioxidant-rich extracts from medicinal plants to treat diseases. I also examine the causes of infertility in male rats and mice linked to pollutants.

External Activities

I worked as a postgraduate teaching assistant at the University of 7th of April, Faculty of Science, as well as at the Higher Center for Medical Professions, Tripoli. I also contributed to teaching preparatory human medicine courses at the Faculty of Science, University of Tripoli. I participate in teaching postgraduate studies at the Academy, Faculty of Basic Sciences, and I am a member of the committee of the "Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences". I work as a member of the Audit Committee for the PhD Program at Misurata University in Life Sciences, the Curriculum Committee at the Faculty of Science, and the Committee for Preparing the Faculty of Science Guide for Zoology Departments at Faculties of Science in Libya. I participate in discussing master's theses at the University of Tripoli, the University of 7th of April in Zawiya, and the University of Misurata, as well as in evaluating faculty members' promotions and evaluating proposals submitted for master's theses.
