Roles
At the beginning of my academic career, specifically in the 2023/2024 academic year, I had the honor of joining the distinguished Faculty of Sharia Sciences in Tajoura as a "part-time lecturer." My teaching duties at that time were divided between two prominent departments: the Department of Fundamentals of Religion and the Department of Islamic Economics. In the Department of Fundamentals of Religion, I was assigned to teach the course "Contemporary Issues," a rigorous course that connects Sharia rulings to contemporary developments and emerging challenges. In the Department of Islamic Economics, I taught the course "Jurisprudence of Zakat and Waqf," highlighting the objectives of Sharia in building social solidarity and establishing Islamic financial systems.
With the start of the 2024/2025 academic year, I continued my academic contributions as a "part-time lecturer," expanding my teaching of specialized courses. In the Department of Fundamentals of Religion, I taught the course "Hadiths of Rulings 4," in addition to "Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence 1" and "Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence 2," which are fundamental pillars in developing students' legal and argumentative skills. In the Department of Islamic Economics, I had the honor of teaching "Islamic Transactions," which is the cornerstone of understanding financial contracts. My activities this year were not limited to teaching; they extended to academic research. I was tasked with directly supervising the graduation theses of four students, as well as participating in the examination committees for several other graduation theses, which enriched my academic and methodological experience.
This gradual academic progression culminated in a significant professional development in the current academic year, 2025/2026. After a distinguished career as a contributing member, the Department of Fundamentals of Religion held a comprehensive periodic meeting to discuss the addition of a group of highly qualified scholars to the department, and by the grace of God, I was among the candidates. This meeting resulted in a unanimous and unanimous agreement on my transfer and appointment to the department as a "Regular Lecturer" (permanent faculty member). Based on this new position, which increases my academic responsibilities, I was assigned to teach three specialized courses in the Department of Fundamentals of Religion: (Verses of Rulings 2), (Hadiths of Rulings 3), and (Hadiths of Rulings 4). Simultaneously, I continued my collaboration with the Department of Islamic Economics, where I was assigned to teach the course (Hadiths of Rulings).
As for my research and academic activities during the same academic year (2025/2026), my scholarly responsibilities continued with greater vigor and effectiveness, stemming from my position as a permanent faculty member. I was assigned direct supervision of two graduation projects for final-year students, in addition to my active participation in the examination and evaluation committees for numerous other graduation theses. These successive milestones embody a solid professional and scientific progression, which began with sincere academic cooperation and ended with stable professional status, confirming my deep commitment and firm mission to serve the scientific journey and contribute to raising the cognitive level of our students.
Careers
My academic career began at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences in Tajoura in 2023 as a part-time lecturer in the Departments of Fundamentals of Religion and Islamic Economics, where I taught several specialized courses such as the Principles of Jurisprudence and Hadiths of Rulings, and supervised graduation research. In 2025, this dedication culminated in my appointment as a full-time lecturer in the Department of Fundamentals of Religion, while continuing my efforts in teaching, academic supervision, and scholarly discussions.
Research Interests
My research interests and efforts are focused on the study and critical edition of Islamic legal texts, with particular attention to connecting general principles to contemporary applications. These interests are specifically embodied in the following areas:
Critical Edition and Revival of Legal Heritage: This involves the meticulous preservation, critical edition, and verification of manuscripts and foundational texts of Islamic jurisprudence, adhering to established academic methodologies. The aim is to uncover hidden treasures of Islamic law, make them accessible to researchers, and utilize this legal heritage to address contemporary issues.
Usul al-Fiqh and Maqasid Studies: This entails in-depth research into the principles of Islamic legal theory (usul al-fiqh), its rules, and the meanings of its terminology. It also involves activating the role of Usul al-Fiqh and Maqasid principles in regulating the methodology of legal reasoning and applying Islamic rulings to emerging issues with flexibility and precision.
Contemporary Financial Transactions (Special Area of Interest): This involves meticulously examining the foundations of modern financial contracts and studying contemporary economic issues (such as Islamic finance, banking transactions, and the digital economy) in light of Islamic jurisprudence. The goal is to offer sound, Sharia-compliant solutions and alternatives that combine authenticity with keeping pace with rapid economic developments.
External Activities
Professional Activities and Community Service (Outside the University)
In addition to my academic and teaching duties, I strive to utilize my scientific specialization to serve the community and guide institutions by linking legal theory with practical application. This is manifested through:
Membership in Sharia Committees of Insurance Institutions: Active participation in specialized committees (and Sharia supervisory boards) for a number of insurance companies (or Takaful insurance), to provide accurate jurisprudential consultations, review insurance contracts and documents, and ensure that financial transactions and products comply with the rulings and objectives of Islamic Sharia.
Organizing and Framing Specialized Academic Courses: Designing and delivering structured and training courses in the fields of jurisprudence and its principles, aimed at disseminating authentic Sharia awareness and building the foundational and jurisprudential aptitude of students and researchers, with a focus on making the foundational principles accessible and relevant to understanding contemporary issues.
