He was appointed a faculty member in the Sharia Department at the college, and was assigned several Sharia subjects in his field of specialization, which he taught to male and female students. These subjects included the subject of jurisprudence of transactions from the book "Aqrab Al-Masalik," an important compendium of jurisprudence in the Maliki school of thought, authored by Imam Abu Al-Barakat Ahmad bin Muhammad Al-Dardir. This book represents an abridgement of the compendium of Sheikh Khalil, in which Al-Dardir selected the accepted opinions in the Maliki school of thought, replacing unacceptable opinions with the preferred ones, while restricting what he stated. "Aqrab Al-Masalik" is considered a primary reference for students of Maliki jurisprudence, and many later scholars have relied on it in their writings.
Professor Muhammad Akrim has collaborated with his colleagues year after year and participated in numerous activities and events organized by the department and the college, such as Ramadan activities, field visits, and student activities at the college level.
He also served as the Dean of Studies and Examinations at the college for a period of time.
He currently serves as the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the college.
