Omry M Abuargob is a faculty member teaching animals Infectious Diseases and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He has been teaching for 25 years, during which he progressed from a demonstrator in 1997 to a professor in 2017. He received a secondment decision to obtain a master's degree in 2001, but he obtained a doctorate in 2005 from the Department of Clinical Studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine/University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom. He has been working at the University of Tripoli as a lecturer since 2006 and has many scientific publications in his field of specialization. He was assigned to many scientific and administrative committees at the college, the university and the Ministry of Higher Education.

Research Interests

Interested in animal diseases, especially transboundary infectious diseases (TADs) and methods of combating them.

External Activities

Prof. Dr. Omry Milad Abu Abuargob has contributed as an external reviewer to many specialized veterinary scientific journals and is an active member of many international organizations: He contributed with the World Health Organization in establishing a scientific base to activate the concept of One Health. He also works as a consultant to the FAO Plague Secretariat in combating the disease in North African countries. He also contributes effectively to the application of biosafety and biosecurity through his contributions to the American Health Security Partners Organization.
