Careers
Dr. Osama Sawesi is a graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tripoli, with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medical Sciences in 2001. He was appointed to the Ministry of Agriculture in the Jfara region in 2003 and was appointed to the Biotechnology Center in the same year, where he worked for a period of time before traveling to Sweden for postgraduate studies in 2005. Dr. Osama obtained his exact scientific degree (PhD) in January 2011 and worked as a researcher in the same department for a year before joining the Department of Internal Medicine at the end of 2012, where he has been working up the career ladder to date. Dr. Osama also currently holds the position of Study and Examinations Coordinator in the department and is a member of some committees in the college with regard to the teaching hospital and curricula.
Research Interests
Dr. Osama Sawesi has many researches in his field of specialization that focus on internal and infectious diseases, as well as the surgical and immunological aspects related to internal and infectious diseases. Dr. Osama is currently interested in focusing his research in the field of horse breeding in Libya and contributing to finding some solutions to some problems in the Libyan field, focusing mainly on nutritional deficiency diseases and some metabolic phenomena in horses. Dr. Osama also contributes to improving the performance of racehorses and raising the performance of these horses and reaching the world and raising their level in international participations by studying some disorders that lead to poor performance.
External Activities
Dr Osama work as a consultant for owners and horse trainer in the area in regards feeding and veterinary programme of animals.
