Dr. Nabil Althabet is a faculty member in the Department of Medicine and Infectious Diseases and holds both a Master’s and a PhD degree in Veterinary Medicine from Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Dr. Nabil Althabet has extensive academic and practical experience spanning many years in the fields of animal health, veterinary disease diagnosis, and healthcare for farm animals, with a strong interest in scientific research and academic teaching in internal and infectious diseases.

He teaches fourth- and fifth-year students the subjects of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and works on preparing students to effectively handle disease cases and outbreaks through both theoretical lectures and practical training sessions.

Careers

Worked as a Veterinary Doctor at Ain Zara Veterinary Clinic from 1990 to 1993.

Worked as a Veterinary Doctor at the Cattle and Sheep Research Stations, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tripoli.

Founded and managed Al-Basatin Veterinary Services Center from 1994 to 2000.

Appointed as a Teaching Assistant at the Higher Institute of Veterinary Medicine in Zintan in 1997, then transferred to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tripoli in the same position until 2000.

Lecturer in the Department of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tripoli.

Gained international academic and professional experience during my residence in Malaysia.

Research Interests

Dr. Nabil Althabet research interests focus on infectious and internal diseases in farm animals, as well as zoonotic diseases transmitted between animals and humans. His areas of interest include parasitic, bacterial, and viral infections.

External Activities

Director of Albasatin Veterinary Service center, Khallat Alfurjan, Tripoli ( 1994-2000).

Providing Scientific and Medical Consultation to food industry companies, Animal production companies, and cattle and sheep breeders.
