Osama El-Waer is a faculty member in the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology , Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Mr. OsamaEl-Waer has been working at the University of Tripoli as an associate professor since 06-05-2012 and has many scientific publications in his field. He is a former international expert in the field of livestock since 2011 until 2017 as a regional coordinator for the European-African Veterinary Governance Program. He is the President of the Libyan Scientific Society of Veterinarians and Head of the Department Cultural relations and international cooperation at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the coordinator of postgraduate studies in the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology at the faculty held several positions, including director of the faculty’s staff affair office in the faculty, head of the consulting and research department at the faculty, head of the examination committee, head of the research unit for vector borne diseases and several other positions

Careers

Dr. Osama  el waer  graduated in 1988 from faculty of veterinary medicine Tripoli- university  the job starting from 1988 to 1993, where he started as a faculty member since 1993 with the rank of assistant professor, then moved to the Kingdom of Morocco as a graduate student to obtain a doctorate degree in state and obtained it in 2004, then became a lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine since 2004 and then in 2007 Assistant Professor at the Faculty in the Department of Parasitology, then Director of the Faculty Office at the Faculty and Head of the Parasitology Research Unit at the Faculty from 2008 to 2011  Then he moved to the State of Kenya to work as an international consultant and expert in livestock for the European Union Organization and the African Union Office for Animal Health, from 2011 to 2018, during which he obtained several international certificates in livestock affairs, transboundary diseases and diseases common to humans and animals, and he was employed in this secondment by a decision of the Prime Minister of the Libyan government after his success in several competitive matches for the job and then get He was an associate professor in 2012, then he returned to work at the faculty as an associate professor by a decision of the Prime Minister of the Libyan government, then he worked as director of the Office of the Department of Training, Consulting and Research at the faculty in 2019, then head of the Department of Cultural Affairs and International Cooperation at the faculty as of 2020 until the moment, Dr. Osama Alo Aar assumed several positions in the faculty and chaired several research, cultural and scientific committees in many community, scientific and cultural activities.

Research Interests

Dr. Osama Al-Waer is an international academic researcher and has interests and contributions to several scientific and international activities, including a specialist in entomology and disease outbreaks, a specialist in parasitology, a specialist in the study of countries' strategies in livestock, he contributed to the African strategy for livestock, and has several interests in camel, pigeon and fish research, transboundary diseases, pandemic resistance, planning for the prevention and control of animal diseases, as well as medical diseases and insects, in addition to influences. Social and economic for animal diseases He also contributed to the development and writing of several strategies for the prevention of animal diseases and contributed to several campaigns for the prevention of animal diseases locally and internationally through his work with international organizations and contributed to the development and writing of several bilateral and international agreements in the field of livestock and veterinary education affairs He also contributed to the unification of the curricula of veterinary medicine colleges locally, regionally and internationally and has several publications in particular and obtained several international and local certificates in livestock affairs  

External Activities

Dr. Osama Al-Waer is an international consultant to international organizations, where he contributed to several international scientific and advisory activities, he is a member and an international expert of the FAO, the World Animal Health Organization, the African Animal Health Organization, a member of the Organization for the Control of International Transboundary Diseases, a member of the African Diseases Nawafel Association, a member of the Organization of African Veterinary Schools, and the coordinator of the Euro-African Veterinary Governance Program for the North African region.  He contributed to the development of the International and African Strategy for Livestock and Prevention of Small Ruminant Disease and contributed to the formation of the African Breeders Union and the African Beekeepers Union. He also contributed to the Life One and Two Program, the European-African Fisheries Governance Program, the African Bee Development Program, the African Animal Genetics Development Program, funded by the European Union, and the African Livestock Monitoring and Tracking Program. Aris One, Wares Two, as well as several Contributed to unifying Africa's position in the international code X for animal products and contributed to raising African livestock centers through the African International Veterinary Governance Program, funded by the European Union, and has several international and local contracts in consulting and implementing tasks through several international and local projects. He is also considered a consultant to the National Center for Animal Health in Libya and a local and international consultant to international and international organizations.
