Fathia Ben ashour is a faculty member inthe Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Nutrition at the Faculty ofVeterinary Medicine. Mrs. Fathia Ben ashour has been working at the Universityof Tripoli as an associate professor since 17/01/2019 and has many scientificpublications in her field of specialization. She served as Director of theQuality Office from 2009 to 2013. She also assumed the duties of Captain of theCollege of Veterinary Medicine from 2013 to 2022.I was assigned to several investigationcommittees at the university. Appointed as coordinator of postgraduate studies.Appointed as coordinator of the department. I was appointed as the head ofcontrol for the final exams for one semester. She created a wall and papermagazine with the help of a number of students from 2009 to 2011. She was alsoresponsible for supervising and directing the annual college guide in 2010within a committee at the University of Tripoli. She established a researchsession for first-year students at the college.

Research Interests

The idea of ​​​​theresearch conducted by Dr. Fathia decided to use an animal model, namely themouse, to verify the feasibility of using a specific medicinal substance totreat a medical condition. An example of this is causing hepatitis in a certainstrain of mice using a toxic substance such as: CCl4Then trying to treat it with a natural extract such as: Savlev drops.  Also inducing of type 2 diabetes events usingcertain chemical subs. such as SPZ. then trying to treat it with a natural substancesuch as the extract of pistachios leaves and fruits. The capabilities availableso far have only allowed for studying the changes occurring in the biochemicalprofile, hemograms parameters and as histopathological changes.Dr. Fathia is currently looking forward, through the involvement ofgraduate students, to go further in mapping and colocalization of impacted receptors,proteins, and genes in causing a functional defect in the CNS, reproductivesystem, heart etc… and the possibility of targeting those plyers with asuccessful and direct treatment for heart failure or Alzheimer disease forinstance, using advanced techniques such as: Electrophysiology-ImmunoHistoChemistry.Dr. Fathia alsocompleted several researches that dealt with studying the changes that occur inblood components and chemistry in a number of domestic animals, such as goats,camels, and purebred Arabian horses, under the influence of various factorssuch as age, gender, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and temperature. She has manyresearch papers in this regard. 

External Activities

I was invitedas an external examiner at the Academy in Janzour to defend a master’s thesis.*I was appointed for one session within the editorial and evaluation staff ofAl-Ustad magazine, issued by the University of Tripoli Syndicate, and I workedas an editor in a local newspaper called Al Sahwa 2012-2013.
