Scientific Visit to Dar Al-Katkout Hatchery: Enhancing Practical Skills in Poultry Disease Studies

As part of the scientific visit program for students in the Poultry Diseases Division, Dr. Imad Benalshar accompanied the students to the Dar Al-Katkout hatchery, which specializes in hatching fertilized eggs. During the visit, Dr. Al-Ashhar provided an in-depth briefing on the various stages of chick production within the hatcheries. He explained the detailed procedures for receiving, storing, and setting the eggs, as well as the incubation process and the inspection of fertilized eggs using candling techniques. The visit also covered the transportation of eggs to hatcheries.

These field visits are integral to helping students understand the practical steps involved in hatchery operations, thereby enhancing their practical skills and knowledge. The department extends its gratitude to Engineer Sami Al-Runiy, Director of Dar Al-Katkout Company, and Dr. Muhammad Ghaneem for their hospitality and for providing a comprehensive explanation of the routine procedures followed within the hatchery.
