Abdulatif Asheg is a Poultry Diseases professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Abdulatif has taught poultry diseases for over 20 years. During that time, he was also assigned to postgraduate studies in the department and was responsible for supervising postgraduate students. Careers
Dr. Abdullatif Al-Ashiq currently holds the position of Department Head and Professor of Poultry Pathology. Commencing his career as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1991, he earned his master's degree in Poultry Pathology from the University of Tripoli in 1995. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph.D.in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Kocsiţsa in 2003. Dr. Abdullatif has garnered extensive recognition for his scholarly contributions, particularly in the realm of scientific research within his specialization.
Research Interests
Regarded as a diligent researcher, Dr. Abdullatif has garnered acclaim for his prolific publication record in esteemed international European journals, including Open Veterinary Journal, Avian Disease, Acta Histochemica, and Folia Microbiologica. His research endeavors are dedicated to fortifying poultry immunity and elucidating their resilience against diseases. Notably, his expertise extends to the study of Salmonella, a pathogen afflicting poultry with consequential implications for human health. Driven by a commitment to mitigating the adverse effects of antibiotic use, he has dedicated substantial efforts to investigating the "Incorporation of Medicinal Herbs into Poultry Diets" as a viable alternative.
External Activities
In addition to his contributions to academia, Dr. Abdullatif serves as a meticulous Reviewer for the Open Veterinary Journal and the World Veterinary Journal. Furthermore, he assumes a leadership role as the head of the executive committee for the Libyan Association for Poultry Diseases.
