Research Interests

Prof. Mukhtar Mahmoud Mukhtar Elaalem has experience for more than 20 years in the field of land assessment and optimal planning for agriculture use, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing.

 Prof. Mukhtar Mahmoud Mukhtar Elaalem, currently works in postgraduate programs in the Department of Soil and Water, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tripoli, for a period of more than 9 years.

Prof. Mukhtar Mahmoud Mukhtar Elaalem, contributed to the number of Master’ Thesis as a first supervisor, Co-Advisor, internal and external examiner in Faculty Agriculture - University of Tripoli, the Libyan Academy - Tripoli, and the Faculty of Agriculture, Omar Al-Mukhtar University.

External Activities

Prof. Mukhtar Mahmoud Mukhtar Elaalem has contributed to many works outside the university, where he contributed to the following:

1. Digitization of Soil Maps and Topographical Maps in Libya with the Agricultural Research Center (Agricultural Mapping Project, 2000 to 2005).

 2. Updating the National Plan to Combat Desertification in Libya in Cooperation with the National Committee for Combating Desertification and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), (2014 Up to date).

3. A Study of the Negative Environmental Impacts of Stone Crushers in the Central Region, of Libya, National Committee For Combating Desertification And Stopping Desert Encroachment (2013 to 2015).

4. Studying, Monitoring and Evaluating the Economic and Environmental Impacts of Irrigated Agriculture in Northwestern Region of Libya, Funded by the Natural Science and Technology Authority, (2016 to 2019).

 5. Scientific Review and Evaluation of A Number of Scientific Research Papers in Al-Mukhtar Journal of Agricultural Sciences and The Libyan Journal of Agriculture.
