Roles

Ahmed Esharghawi is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design at the university. He holds a PhD in ceramics from the University of Limoges, France. He has held several positions within the university and the college, where he previously served as Head of the Department of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Arts and Media, then Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, then Head of the Department of Quality and Performance Evaluation, and then Coordinator of Graduate Studies in the Department of Fine Arts. After the establishment of the Faculty of Arts and Design, he assumed the responsibility of Dean there until now.

▪ 1992-2001 – Teaching Assistant, Department of Fine and Applied 

Arts, Ceramics and Glass Division.

▪ 1995 – Founding member of the Libyan Ceramic Society.

▪ 2010-2013 – Head of the Fine and Applied Arts Department.

▪ 2011-2012 – Vice Dean for scientific affairs of the faculty of Arts 

and Media.

▪ From 2014 – Head of Quality Department, Faculty of Arts and 

Media, University of Tripoli.

▪ From 2017 – Chairman of the Graduate Studies Committee, 

Department of Fine and Applied Arts

▪ From 2019 – Director of the Research and Consultation Center 

Administration at the University of Tripoli

▪ Continuing to teach some subjects in the undergraduate studies 

program as well as postgraduate studies.

2022_ Dean of the Faculty of Arts.

Member of the Committee for the Preparation of Standard Specifications for Ceramic Materials.

Research Interests
