Roles

During my tenure at the University of Tripoli, I carried out a range of academic and administrative responsibilities. I taught several accounting courses, including Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Bank Accounting, and Financial Statement Analysis, employing effective teaching methods to enhance students’ analytical and practical skills. I also supervised and examined undergraduate final-year projects, providing academic guidance throughout the research process.

In addition, I actively participated in the preparation of midterm and final examinations, invigilated exams, and graded students’ work in accordance with academic standards, while offering constructive feedback to support their academic development. I contributed to the organization of the teaching process by assisting faculty members, leading tutorial sessions, and explaining core concepts to students. Furthermore, I monitored students’ academic performance and provided continuous academic support to help improve their outcomes.

Research Interests

My research interests lie in the fields of international accounting, corporate governance, and financial performance, with a particular focus on the interaction between governance mechanisms and firm performance, especially in multinational enterprises. I am particularly interested in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure and its role in enhancing transparency and financial outcomes, including the moderating effects of board characteristics and board committees.

I also focus on international accounting and auditing standards (e.g., IFRS and ISA), examining their global diffusion through the lens of diffusion of innovation theory, and analyzing their economic and financial market consequences across countries. My research further explores transnational and institutional determinants influencing the adoption and implementation of these standards.

In addition, my interests extend to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its relationship with the financial performance, as well as the effectiveness of internal governance mechanisms and audit quality. Methodologically, I employ advanced quantitative techniques, such as quantile regression, to capture heterogeneous effects across firms and markets.

External Activities

I actively contribute to the international academic community through my role as a peer reviewer for several high-quality, peer-reviewed journals indexed in major databases, such as Scopus and Web of Science. I have received formal recognition for my reviewing activities on Publons, reflecting my contribution to maintaining and enhancing the quality of academic publishing.

I have reviewed manuscripts for a number of reputable academic journals, including:

  • International Journal of Finance & Economics
  • Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal
  • Journal of Strategy and Management
  • Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting
  • Society and Business Review
