Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Omar Hamed is a faculty member of Economics in the Department of Finance and Banking at the University of Tripoli. He has been a lecturer since 2008 and teaches several courses at both the high-level diplomas and a bachelor's level, including:

He obtained a PhD in banking and finance from De Montfort University, UK, on 09 February 2021
He worked in several government departments before obtaining his PhD from De Montfort University in the UK.
1. On December 31, 2012, he resigned from his position at the Libyan Cement Company and the Libyan-Egyptian Holding Company.
2. In 2010, he was appointed Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs for the Libyan Egyptian Wire Holding Company, in addition to his previous responsibilities.
3. On December 31, 2009, he resigned from his position in the Ministry of Finance, Jafara District.
4. In 2009, he was appointed as a faculty member and lecturer in the Faculty of Economics and Political Department of Banking and Finance, University of Tripoli.
5. In March 2009, he was appointed as Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Al-Nasr Cement Company.
6. In January 2008, he joined as a teaching member at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Department of Banking and Finance, University of Tripoli.
7. In 2007, he transferred to work in the Finance Ministry of the Jafara District.
8. In 2006, he obtained a master’s degree in finance and Banking from the Tripoli Graduate Studies Academy.
9. In 2002, he completed the required courses for the master’s program in Banking and Finance at the Tripoli Graduate Studies Academy.
10. In 2002, he was reappointed as an employee in the industrial sector of the Jafara District.
11. In 1999, he was assigned to the duties of Head of the Costs and Warehouses Department at the National Development Company.
12. In 1998, he obtained the title of Accountant and Legal Auditor from the Libyan Accountants Syndicate.
13. In 1998, he was Appointed Secretary for the Industrial Sector of Al-Sawani Municipality of the Jafara District.
14. In 1997, he was assigned to the duties of Head of the Accounts and Budget Department at the National Development Company.
15. In 1995, he was appointed as an employee of the National Development Company.
16. In 1993, he completed his mandatory two-year national military service.
17. In 1991, he obtained a bachelor's degree in management, specialising and the branch of accounting, from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science department of the University of Tripoli.
Research Interests
Driven by a strong research interest in sustainable development, he has participated in multiple academic conferences and has published several papers, including:
1- Uncovering the Role of the Agricultural Bank in Fostering Sustainable Agricultural Development in Rural Areas: Evidence from Libya.
2- The Role of the Agricultural Bank's Management in Supporting Sustainable Agricultural Development: A Case Study of the Jafara Region in Libya.
3- The Role of Specialised Banks in Achieving Sustainable Agricultural Development: A Case Study of the Libyan Agricultural Bank.
External Activities
Interests outside of university are focused on working as a private external Legal accountant.
