Mohamed Amer Abushhewa is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Finance and Banking at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, University of Tripoli. He currently holds the rank of Assistant Lecturer and is responsible for teaching academic courses within the department, following a progressive academic career that began with his appointment as a Teaching Assistant in the same department.

Careers

Mohamed Amer Mohamed Abushhewa has a distinguished career progression in the Department of Finance and Banking at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, University of Tripoli. He began his academic journey upon being appointed as a Teaching Assistant in the department in late 2012. Following the attainment of his Master’s degree, his status was changed to a full-time faculty member with the rank of Assistant Lecturer, until he recently obtained his PhD in Islamic Economic Jurisprudence and Finance from the Republic of Turkey in 2026.

Research Interests

My research interests encompass the fields of finance and banking in general, with a specific focus on Islamic finance contracts, their banking applications, as well as their associated risks and management mechanisms. I am also interested in corporate jurisprudence and financial markets, including their activities and transactions from a Sharia perspective. Furthermore, I constantly strive to employ theoretical knowledge, financial analysis, and quantitative tools to study contemporary issues and challenges; thereby enhancing the integration between theory and practice, and contributing to elevating the efficiency, performance, and sustainability of financial institutions.

External Activities

Attending and participating in academic conferences and seminars specialized in financial and banking sciences in general, and Islamic finance and banking in particular.
