Samira is a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Economics in Tripoli. Mrs. Samira works at the University of Tripoli as an assistant lecturer since 2007-2008 and has many scientific publications in her field of specialization, and she teaches a variety of courses in the field of political science to undergraduate students, including courses such as principles of political science, principles of public administration, political sociology, political theory and modern and contemporary political thought.
In addition to her teaching duties, Mrs. Samira Ibrahim bin Omran performed a number of administrative tasks within the department and college, where Samira bin Omran was a member of the Monitoring Committee from 2001 to 2006.Supervising the preparation of graduation statements, and she also participated during her career as a demonstrator in the committees of supervision and control of exams, Mrs. Samira bin Omran served as the coordinator of the Department of Political Science for distance education programs from the academic year 2011 to 2013.

In the academic year 2001-2002, Mrs. Samira bin Omran was appointed as a demonstrator in the Department of Political Science and obtained a postgraduate diploma in political science in the academic year 2003-2004, and continued to work as a demonstrator until the academic year 2005-2006.
She obtained her master's degree in international relations in 2006 and has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science since 2006 - until now

Interest in the field of international relations, political theory, political sociology and political thought, in addition to research in scientific research strategies, teaching and learning strategies, quality and ensuring them in education, as well as research on the mechanisms of building and activating e-learning in higher education institutions.
The outcome of these concerns was a research on strategic transformations in American foreign policy after the events of September 11, 2001, as well as a research on political parties in Libya: obstacles, obstacles and the future role in the political process.
