Dialogue session on freedom of opinion and expression in national legislation and international law

A dialogue session was held this morning in the Planetarium Hall in Tripoli, entitled "Freedom of Opinion and Expression in National Legislation and International Law".

 It is jointly organized by the General Authority for Media Content Monitoring, the Civil Society Commission, the Libyan Organization for Justice, Human Rights and the Fight against Impunity, and with the support of the Sharp Program to Support the Rule of Law.

The session witnessed a wide participation of faculty members at the Faculty of Law, University of Tripoli, through scientific papers in the framework of criminal law and international law.

 The lectures of the professors were as follows:

 The first intervention: a philosophical approach between freedom of opinion and expression and the law

 Second Intervention: Restrictions on Freedom of Opinion and Expression in the Libyan Criminal Law A/ Iman Madi.

 The third intervention: The right to freedom of opinion and expression, Mrs. Hamida Al-Dahesh.

 Fourth Intervention: Restricting Freedom of Opinion and Expression in International Human Rights Law Dr. Imran Al-Safrani.

 Fifth intervention: International humanitarian law and its protection for journalists, Mr. Hind Al-Maqsabi.

 The dialogue concluded with a number of recommendations related to the topic.
