Roles

Since my transfer to the University of Tripoli in 1996, I have been working as a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. I teach several courses, including Fish Nutrition and Fish Handling and Preservation, to undergraduate students in the Aquatic Agriculture Department. I also served as Head of the Aquatic Agriculture Department from 1996 to 2021. In addition, I have supervised numerous graduation projects alongside academic advising, and I have presented many research works, including studies on:

 

2009 Development of fermented fish silage derived from pelagic sardine and apple pomace by-product for inclusion in diets of the European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) Thesis for PhD Project.

 

2011 Penificial using of EDTA to reduce cadmium toxicity and to improve the Physiological and Biochemical Profiles of Catfish (Clarias gariepinus), Vol.1(1),2011.

Careers

Before transferring to the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Tripoli, I worked in the Marine Biology Research Center in Tajura as a researcher and Head of the Fish and Aquaculture Department from 1990 to 1996. During this period, I published several research works, including studies on:

 

1992 fish silage production utilizing date syrup wastes and whole sardines (Sardinella aurita ) by biological fermentation process and its nutritional value, Thesis for M.SC. Project.

 

1993 Food production and feeing techniques on aquaculture activities in Libya, in the workshop on food production and feeding techniques, 19- 21/10/1993, Porto, Portugal.

 

1993 Seasonal variations of fat and moisture contents in some important pelagic. fishes, Lib Fish Technical Briefing Notes, No. 23,FAO, Tripoli, Rome.
