Roles
Thuraya Bashir Elwifati is an Assistant Professor at Translation Department, Faculty of Languages. Since her appointment, she has been assigned to teach a number of academic courses related to translation/applied linguistics and the supervision of a number of graduation projects. Thuraya has undertaken a number of translation and localization projects. Throughout her career with us, she succeeded in bringing together her practical experience and academic knowledge in translation carrying out a number of specialized courses in the Translation of Legal contracts, Medical Translation and the terminology of International Trade, besides her academic participation in a number of international and local conferences.

Professor Thuray Al-Wifati was appointed on 02.09.2010 and contributed to supporting the Translation Section in its inception by helping to draw up its educational plan and develop its curriculum. She was promoted academically as Professor of Assistant

Translation Studies, Discourse Analysis, Semantics & Pragmatics, and Language & Ideology
External Activities
Besides being a faculty member of the university, she works as a legal translator providing translation services to many bodies and individuals. Its work was highlighted by the translation of the bill on eliminating cyberviolence and hate speech in cooperation with a legal team. It also published the English version of a magazine the Free Zone of Misrata Port published. She was also assigned as a member of the Audit Committee of the Quality Centre on his audit visit to Al Rafiq Al Ahliyah University. Believing in the importance of community action and voluntary service, she has contributed. She continues to engage in many community activities as a leading leader of the Scout Movement and guides of the Andalus District Division, Tripoli. In cooperation with the Libyan Centre for Children's Arts and the Nahr Children's Rights Organization, it has continued its activities. It is also a prominent member of the Libyan Translators' Team, which has joined and continues to hold specialized training courses in such areas as translation of legal contracts and diplomatic documents, as well as medical reports, through which participants from various academic and functional sectors are trained.
Contributed to the effective success of the Puzzle Work initiative on the development of the skills of the university student, where it was recently hosted at the Faculty of Human Medicine at the invitation of the College's Students' Union to offer a training workshop on the translation of medical reports attended by a large number of female students from the faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy
