Roles

Fardous is one of the faculty members in the Fine Arts Department at the College of Arts and Media. Mrs. Ferdous has been working at the University of Tripoli as an associate professor since 2023-08 and has many scientific publications in her field of specialization. The beginning of her academic career was when she was appointed Assistant Secretary of the Teaching Assistants Syndicate at the College of Arts and Media in 1994. She served as Head of the Fine and Applied Arts Department from 2013-2015 at the College of Arts and Media. She worked as a member of the artistic works evaluation committee in the Fine Arts Competition at the University of Khoms 05-25-2013. She was assigned by the university as head of the higher preparatory committee for the third session of the Architectural Day at the University of Tripoli 2015. She also served as quality coordinator in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts 2015. She was assigned the duties of director Faculty Affairs Office at the College of Arts and Media from 2013-2016. Member of the Committee for Organizing the Internal Bylaws of the College of Arts and Media 2015-2016. She was selected as a member of the Committee for Reviewing the Internal Bylaws of the College of Arts and Media for the year 2018. She currently holds the duties of Coordinator of the Art Education Division in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts.​

Careers

she began her academic career at the university as a teaching assistant in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts in 1994, then was appointed as Secretary of the Department of Art Education from 2005-2007. She then obtained a Master’s degree in 2005 from the Rome Academy of Arts, Rome, Italy, and participated in a number of exhibitions in Rome during her Master’s studies. She obtained a doctorate degree from the Department of Education, Faculty of Major Language Studies, from the University of Islamic Sciences Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia in 2013. She participated in a number of scientific conferences in Malaysia, and this research was published in international conference journals. I worked as a lecturer in the department in 2013, then as an assistant professor since 2016, and now as an associate professor in the Art Education Division in 2023.

Research Interests

Dr. Firdous is interested in many artistic fields: drawing, photography, sculpture, and Islamic arts, while the field of art education is the first in her research interests, including drawings of children and people with special needs, as she conducted scientific research in this field. She is also interested in the history of all arts from the ancient era to The modern era, and also has research in this field. It also has interests in antiquities and previous civilizations, the history of their arts and drawings, and the field of heritage sustainability.

External Activities

the doctor was appointed by the Ministry of Education with a joint committee to determine the courses and curricula for intermediate institutes in 2016. She worked as a cooperating professor at the Libyan Academy for Postgraduate Studies in Janzour in 2016, and she still supervises some of the academy’s students in their postgraduate studies.
