1. She has worked since March 1, 1999 as a teaching assistant in the department. On March 25, 2003, she obtained a master’s degree in accounting from the Libyan Academy in Tripoli, and on July 21, 2015, she obtained a doctorate in costs from the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Sfax in Tunisia. She works as a faculty member. She holds the rank of Associate Professor and teaches many subjects at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, and supervises a group of master’s theses in postgraduate studies. She also worked as Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs at the college and supervised the quality program at the college.

Careers

One of the faculty members in the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Economics, Tripoli. Mrs. Somaya has been working at the University of Tripoli as a teaching assistant since September 1, 1999. She currently holds the position of associate professor since September 1, 2022. She has many scientific publications in her field of specialization. She has taught many accounting subjects at the bachelor’s and graduate levels, and she also supervises.

She participated in master’s theses and graduation projects in accounting. She also participated in many monitoring, examination and control committees, and participated in the comparison examinations for graduate studies and seminars for master’s students. She also arbitrated many pure papers for faculty members and secretly judged and evaluated master’s theses. She participated as an internal and external examiner for master’s theses.

Research Interests

She is interested in Islamic accounting and Sharia auditing and has many published articles and participated in many scientific conferences. She is currently interested in developing accounting education and the uses of artificial intelligence in scientific research, and the use of artificial intelligence in developing the accounting and auditing profession.

External Activities

I participated in many scientific conferences and workshops at the university, college and outside it. I also implemented many training courses for public and private bodies, cooperated with some private universities to teach and train courses, and discuss graduation projects. I cooperated with the National Institute of Administration by implementing a group of training courses in the field of accounting, auditing, costs, etc.
