Hasen Ben Taher is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, University of Tripoli, Libya. He received a Ph.D. in Economics (applied econometrics) in 2010 from Liverpool John Moores University, UK. His primary research interests are in the fields of economics and finance, with an emphasis on micro- and macroeconomics and the public budget. More generally, he has empirical research covering the applied sub-fields of public finance management (PFM): public expenditure, public revenue, and economic policies. He also has an interest in public investment management (PIM), which is his doctoral field.

Research Interests

My main research interests are in the field of economics and finance, with an emphasis on the micro and macroeconomics and of public budget. More generally, I have an empirical research covering the applied sub-fields of public finance management PFM: public expenditure, public revenue and economic policies. I also have an interest in public investment management PIM, which is my doctoral field

My passion for economics and finance topics appeared during my undergraduate studies in Faculty of Economic and Political Sciences at Tripoli University. After four years of undergraduate study, I was admitted to Academy and Economic Research for my master’s study in economics. Due to my intense curiosity and solid background, I studied: macroeconomics, microeconomics, money and banking, monetary policies, international finance and international commerce. My MSc dissertation was about the economic impacts of the banking financing the deficit of public budget
