Roles

After more than 11 years in higher education as a senior lecturer, Dr. Rida now works part-time as a senior lecturer (full-time for teaching and scientific research) in finance and investment.

The primary roles of Dr. Rida Shita now are as a researcher and supervisor of master’s and bachelor’s theses. He has published regularly in peer-reviewed scientific journals, works on scientific research with various colleagues, and has responsibilities as a mentor to groups of bachelor’s students and a supervisor of master’s theses.

Dr. Rida has focused greatly on the efficiency and performance evaluation of organizations and risk management and currently gives specialized lectures at the request of his colleagues on specialized research topics including risk and performance efficiency. For many years, Dr. Rida has combined teaching and scientific research.

Careers

Before joining the University of Tripoli as a faculty member in the Department of  Finance and Banking, Dr. Rida worked for many years as head of the Commercial Licensing Unit and secretary of the Real Estate Allocation Committee. Then he moved to technical education as director of the Higher Institute for Comprehensive Science and Technology in Souk Al-Khamis.

Despite the great responsibilities, Dr. Rida's duties focused mainly on scientific research and his interest in scientific research by creating and establishing the comprehensive scientific journal of the Higher Institute of Science and Technology, Souq Al-Khamis.

Dr. Rida also held positions including Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Urban Planning and Development Company, Member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Holding Company for the Economic and Social Development Fund, and Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs for the Real Estate and Tourism Holding Company.

Research Interests

Over the past eleven years, Dr. Rida has published many scientific researches and conducted a group of financial studies for many local organizations. The internal and external scientific journals in which Dr. Reda has published include (the International Journal of Economic Studies, the Algerian Journal of the Researcher, the Journal of Economic and Political Sciences, and the Journal of Accounting Studies, University Journal and many others).

External Activities

Dr. Rida participated in a group of conferences, seminars, and scientific dialogues, including the Economics Conference in Zliten, the Islamic Banking Workshop, and the Statistical Work Conference at the Libyan Social Security Fund.

Dr. Rida also prepared and trained many training courses for a number of centers, including the Institute of Banking Studies, the Rebuild Libya Organization, Kutub Al-Istishari, and the Aqra Office.
