Prof. Dr. Bashir Arebi is a faculty member in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Bashir Arebi works at the University of Tripoli as a professor and has many scientific publications in his field of specialization. Since 2001, he has been working at the University of Tripoli in the Department of Nuclear Engineering as a permanent faculty member until now. During these years, he taught several undergraduate and postgraduate courses (Masters) as well as supervised graduation projects and more than 9 master's theses. He also held the position of Head of the Nuclear Department at the Faculty of Engineering - University of Tripoli from 2007 to 2012. As well as head of the Office of Curriculum and Arabization at the Faculty of Engineering and coordinator of graduate studies for the Department of Nuclear for several years.
Careers
Dr. Bashir Hassan Arebi obtained his PhD in 1996 from the University of Stratclade - Glasgow in the field of nuclear engineering and energy systems, knowing that he obtained a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering in 1982 from the University of Tripoli, and part of the study was in Finland VVT and the University of Lige in Belgium, and the graduation project was completed in Belgium. From the beginning of 1982 to the beginning of 1983, he worked as a laboratory engineer in the Department of Nuclear Engineering, University of Tripoli, then he moved at the beginning of 1983 to the Secretariat of Energy and Scientific Research to work as an engineer to study and prepare for the establishment of nuclear power plants in Libya and in 1985 he joined a training course on nuclear power plants at the expense of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Yugoslavia for a year. From 1986 to the beginning of 1989, he worked at the Secretariat of Education and Scientific Research (Tajoura Nuclear Research Center) as a researcher, where research was related to nuclear science and nuclear power plants. In 1989-1996, he was sent to study for a doctorate at Stratclade Glasgow University in Britain. After returning from his doctoral studies in 1996, he joined his previous work at the Tajoura Nuclear Research Center and held the position of Head of the Reactor Research and Development Unit and as a collaborator in university teaching at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tripoli in the departments of mechanics, nuclear and oil until October 2001, when he moved to the University of Tripoli in the Department of Nuclear Engineering as a permanent faculty member until now. During these years, he taught several undergraduate and postgraduate courses (Masters) as well as supervised graduation projects and more than 9 master's theses. He also held the position of Head of the Nuclear Department at the Faculty of Engineering - University of Tripoli from 2007 to 2012. Research Interests
In terms of scientific production, a number of research papers have been published in a number of international and local scientific journals and conferences, where more than 17 research papers have been published in refereed scientific journals (a list of paper titles attached in the CV)
External Activities
Several activities through the scientific committees of the Atomic Energy and Scientific Research Corporation to study and prepare for the establishment of nuclear power plants in Libya, as well as in research centers outside the university, including a member of the Scientific Committee of the Libyan Center for Research and Studies of Solar Energy during the period 2016 to 2022. Dr. Bashir is also a reviewer and a primary evaluator of research papers published in the Journal of the Solar Research Center as well as a reviewer in the Journal of Engineering Research at the Faculty of Engineering in Tripoli, and evaluates research papers for promotion when sent from various Libyan universities.
