The College of Science / University of Tripoli hosts a meeting to adopt the results and indicators of inventorying and sorting chemicals in all educational and research institutions in the country:

Within the framework of preparing the indicators of the results of the inventory and sorting of chemicals that have been carried out in educational, training and research institutions during the past three months, and following up the steps to launch the unified chemical system and linking it to the international network, the Internet, so that it is available to all universities and other institutions, meeting this morning, Saturday, corresponding to 01/21/2023 AD, Mr. Prof. Dr. Ali Ghaith Al-Jadid, Chairman of the Joint Main Committee for the Inventory of Chemicals, with the heads and members of the specific committees of the main committee, and in the meeting, part of which was attended by Prof. Dr. Ramadan Al-Jadi, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Faculties of Science in Libyan universities, to ensure that the results of the inventory are received, processed and included in all universities, research centers, technical colleges, higher institutes, and primary and intermediate schools. The procedural plan has also been developed to feed the system with data and prepare detailed reports.

At the end of the meeting, the professor thanked Dr. Chairman of the Joint Main Committee, everyone for their great efforts, stressing that the results of the inventory and sorting have become the basis from which the treatment and destruction committee, which will start its work soon, God willing, with the participation of the Ministry of Local Government, the Ministry of Interior, the Municipal Guard, the Occupational Safety Authority, the Environmental Police and other relevant authorities. He also referred to the keenness and interest of Dr. Omran Al-Qayeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to continue working on this file to its end in terms of reaching a safe and sound educational environment free of chemical pollutants and their threats and damages. Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Jadeed, Chairman of the Joint Committee, stressed that what is happening in the matter of dealing with the chemicals file will end one of the most serious environmental problems that constitute a serious and serious threat to all educational, training and research institutions in the country over the past many years, and which the results of the current inventory showed the extent of its seriousness.
