Ahmed Shawki is a faculty member in the Department of Nuclear Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Mr. Ahmed Shawki has been working at the University of Tripoli as a lecturer since 2016-06-08 and has many scientific publications in his field of specialization. He teaches courses related to radiation measurement, its applications, and radiation in the environment. He also supervises graduation projects in the field of radiation applications, simulation of radiation detectors, and various radiation interactions. Mr. Ahmed Shawki is the Head of the Department of Nuclear Engineering from 01/08/2018 to 30/04/2022, and then from 01/04/2024 to the present.

External Activities

• Referee to some local and Arab periodicals and local conferences in the field of radiation applications.
• Participation in the preparation of the naturally occurring radioactive materials management program in some oil fields.
• Supervising the clean-up processes of some oil fields contaminated with natural radionuclides (NORM).
• Measurement of radioactive samples for a number of organizations.
• Implementation of training courses in the field of radiation protection and radiological survey.
