Roles

WAJDI RATEMI  joined the department of Nuclear Engineering  at the University of Tripoli  as a teacher assistant in 1979, and promoted to full professor in 1998 .  He  obtained his B.Sc., and M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering  from University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA  in 1977, and 1982, respectively, and his D.Eng.  from Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan.  As a staff member at the Nuclear Engineering Department , he teaches several subjects in his major such as basics of nuclear engineering, reactor dynamics and control, and modeling and simulation. Also, he supervised B.Sc. projects  in nuclear engineering as well as M.Sc. thesis in nuclear engineering and in engineering management. Professor Ratemi has several publications in the field modeling, simulation, and control as well as in neural networks, expert systems, and number theory and probabilities.

Research Interests

Professor Ratemi has published 56 papers in national, regional, and international conferences, as well as in scientific journals during the period 1987-2022. His research interest covers   nuclear power plant modeling, simulation, and control as well as in neural networks, expert systems, and number theory and probabilities. He contributed to ed.Ted with a lesson  about Pascal's triangle which has over 2.5M viewers, and translated to over 25 languages. 

External Activities

Professor Ratemi  contributed in activities outside the University of  Tripoli as a:

·         Reviewer to  some papers  for conferences, and for the promotion of staff  members.

·         Chairman of scientific committee for innovation expo  in Libya 1990's 

·         Consultant  in Tajura Nuclear research center in 1990's

·         Member of the board of directors for the project of  planning  the Libyan central region, university of Tripoli consultancy office,  2010.

·          Member of the board of directors of the Libyan atomic energy establishment 2010-2020

·         Chairman of  the board of directors of the Libyan atomic energy establishment 2020-
