Description

The student studies a variety of subjects that include the history of the ancient Arabs, the history of the ancient East, the ancient Maghreb, and the Mediterranean. In addition study the history of the Greeks and Romans, as well as research methods and the English language.

Objectives

1 - To provide  the community  with qualified alumni in the field of historical studies.

2- Consolidating the concept of nationality, national identity, and the Islamic faith through studying the heritage of the Arab-Islamic and analyzing the cultural and civilizational heritage.

3- Providing students with the accurate scientific and methodological foundations of history sciences.

4- Creating specialized academic staff  to contribute to the educational process in postgraduate studies.

  5. Contributing to the dissemination of Arab istory and civilization and its relations with other civilizations..

Outcomes

Qualifying academics specialized in ancient history.  They  have  the awareness and its importance in preserving cultural heritage, such as museums and ancient times.

Preparing researchers specialized in the field of ancient history, and qualifying them to benefit from archaeological discoveries in rewriting the ancient history of Libya.

Preparing qualified staff to contribute to the development of society in the field of ancient history and its related effects.

Entry Reuirements

Obtain a first university degree in History or its equivalent

Employer approval for full-time or part-time study workers.

Passing remedial courses in the event of the change of specialization

Submit an original copy of the transcript and the contents of all the courses that the applicant studied at the undergraduate level

Students are accepted according to the priority of their estimates in the first university degree

Study Plan

The Master in Ancient History prepares students to qualify for Master in Ancient History. The student studies several subjects which have been carefully chosen in this major to cover its different aspects.

It comprises 3 Semesters of study, in which the student will study a total of 30 units, which include 18 units of general subjects, and 12 major units
