Aboubaker Garbaj is one of the staff members at the department of Food hygiene - faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He is working as a staff member   since1992 . He teaches several subjects in his major and has several puplications in the field of his interest.

Administrative positions:

 1.Head of  Food Hygiene and Control Department,  University of Tripoli,  Tripoli -          Libya, (2022- untill now),

    2. Dean, Faculty of  Veterinary Medicine, University   of Tripoli   2017 - 2021          .

     3. Vice Dean, Faculty of  Veterinary Medicine,   University of Tripoli,   2015 - 2017.

  4. Head of  Food Hygiene and Control Department,    University of Tripoli, Tripoli -         Libya, (1995- 2000), (2008-2013) and( 2014 -2017).

  5. Graduate studies coordinator, Department of Food Hygiene and  Control, Faculty of            Veterinary Medicine, University of Tripoli,       (2010-2013).

6. President of examinations committee (2004-2007) ( 2015 -2017).

7. Registrar of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Tripoli University, 1996.

8. Founder member and cashier of Libyan Society of Veterinary Medicine1996.

Research Interests

- Food safety and quality assurance.

- My area of interest is the microbial contamination of food of ainmal origin and food poisoning.

External Activities

Dr.Aboubaker M.Garbaj  is a member of the Dairy Committee of the National Center for Standardization and Metrology (LNCSM). Dr. Aboubaker has refereed several scientific articles and publications in several local and international scientific journals. He has shared a discussion committee of master's theses at the University of Tripoli. He provided several scientific consultations in the field of milk hygiene and dairy products to the Food and Drug Control Center and the National Center for Animal Health, as well as to several livestock farms and dairy factories.
