Description

The Department of Social Service is one of the modern departments that was established at the University of Tripoli, Faculty of Education - Janzour, in response to the requirements of the labor market, to provide qualified cadres capable of carrying out change and reform processes to confront the increasing various problems to which members of society are exposed, by contributing to providing solutions and managing the crises and changes that it is witnessing. Society, using modern methods that work to enhance social harmony and achieve a decent life for community members.

The Social Service Department focuses on the diversity of its courses and keeping pace with the changes occurring in the curriculum, to meet the requirements of the educational process related to knowledge, understanding, and mental, practical, and professional skills related to learning methods.

Objectives

1- Preparing the competent school social worker in the basic and intermediate education stages.

2- Developing competencies capable of scientific research to serve the local community.

3- Providing students with knowledge and skills in various fields of social service.

4- Developing students’ abilities and skills in dealing with social reality in its various forms so that the educational process goes beyond merely being cognitive and perceptual inputs into the system of knowledge transfer and communication to its contribution to societal issues and problems and instilling social values.

.5- Preparing specialized professional cadres to exercise their role to address various issues and problems in the school environment, in cooperation with a work team in various specializations to create an environment suitable for achieving the educational and social goals of the school.

6- A link between the educational process as a tool for cognitive development and social service as a tool for harnessing knowledge for the benefit of the individual, the group and society.

Study Plan

The Bachelor in Social Service prepares students to qualify for Bachelor in Social Service. The student studies several subjects which have been carefully chosen in this major to cover its different aspects.

It comprises 8 Semesters of study, in which the student will study a total of 138 units, which include 48 units of general subjects, and 78 major units, 4 of elective units. In addition to a final project in the student's major.
