The International Cooperation Office at the University of Tripoli is please to invite you to its online portal that displays the office’s work, vision, mission and goals. It is the window through which we look to communicate with faculty staff, students, employees and visitors.

 

The ICO seeks to strengthen the link, cooperation and coordination between the International organizations and the university’s administrative, financial, academic and research units. This is to ensure the success of implementing the university’s international cooperation programs, and to increase its competitiveness at the local, regional and international levels.

 

It seeks to strengthen and activate the university’s external relations with its counterparts from foreign universities, as well as with regional and international organizations and bodies related to higher education and scientific research institutions to achieve the desired goals.

 

The Office has adopted facilitative plans to obtain the correct information, provide the required service for each segment of university employees, and offer statistics and reports that guide visitors to reach and understand the work of the Office in serving the university community.

The International Cooperation Office has a vision of opening the University to the world, establishing strong ties with similar institutions and bring the best to the university in terms of research, quality, teaching and innovation. 

Mission

The ICO works on establishing and developing cooperation with universities all over the world. It establishes ties with local, regional and international organizations and bodies that are related to higher education and scientific research. It brings in expertise that contributes to achieving the university's goals.

Objectives

The ICO aims at

 

-          Introducing the University of Tripoli to the world

-          Opening prospects for cooperation and setting up local and international cooperation programs in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

-          Taking advantage of the opportunities available at the local, regional and international levels, to raise the level of education and scientific research at the University of Tripoli.

 

The ICO exercises its terms of references through the following tasks:

1. Communication and coordination with local, regional and international organizations and universities.

2. Preparation of memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements between the University of Tripoli international universities and institutions.

3. Follow-up of the implementation of the programs resulting from the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the University of Tripoli and international institutions.

4. Propose programs to support the University of Tripoli.

6. Preparation of necessary arrangements for receiving and hosting delegations in accordance with the various cooperation programs.

7. Preparation of conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings and exhibitions organized by the university in the presence of foreign delegations.

8. Cooperation with the university’s department to contribute to meeting the university’s needs for expatriate professors through joint cooperation programs and bilateral agreements signed with the university.

9. Coordination with the Department of Graduate Studies and Training at the university in implementing the short scholarship programs.

10. Assistance of faculty members in implementing sabbatical leave with universities that UOT has agreements with universities.

11. Coordination with the administrative and financial units at the university regarding the preparation of the annual budget for international cooperation.

12. Managing and following up the programs for university students studying abroad based on bilateral agreements or offered through competitive programs.

13. Following up the procedures related to verifying the validity of the academic certificates of foreign students issued by the university.

14. Supervision of the university's external participations related to various cultural and scientific activities.

15. Follow-up of grievances and complaints submitted to the university from foreign parties in coordination with the official authorities of the state.

-          Establishing a connection between the faculties and departments of the university with their regional and international counterparts.

-          Strengthening the university's research capabilities in cooperation with international institutions.

-          Investing in projects launched by international unions to enhance the level of university’s outputs Searching for opportunities of cooperation and exchange programs with international universities

-          Developing current teaching programs and opening new ones in line with modern educational developments

-          Concluding agreements and memoranda of understanding with parallel international bodies
