Careers
Mr. Hussein Mrgin began his academic career at Tripoli University, where he joined the Faculty of Social Sciences as a faculty member in the Department of Social Work as an Assistant Lecturer in 1996, after obtaining his Master's degree. Over time, he progressed in academic ranks and became a Lecturer in 1998. In 2000, he moved to work at the Faculty of Arts at Tripoli University.Mr. Hussein Mrgin earned the rank of Assistant Professor in 2003, and in 2010, he obtained the rank of Associate Professor. Later, in 2015, he achieved the rank of Professor. In 2018, he worked as a scientific advisor at the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research. In 2022, he joined Yarmouk University as a visiting professor. Currently, he is working as part of a research team at the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research.In addition to his academic positions, Mr. Hussein Mrgin holds leadership and membership positions in various regional and international committees and research teams concerned with education quality and assurance. He also serves as the head of the Arab Association for Social Sciences and Humanities.
Research Interests
Mr. Hussein Mrgin is distinguished by his wide-ranging research interests that encompass diverse fields. His research focuses on social movements and the role of civil society, in addition to Arab social activism and the Arab-Israeli conflict. He is also interested in education quality and assurance.Mr. Hussein Mrgin has extensive experience in this field, having authored numerous books, studies, and scientific research papers. He participates as a member in several research teams at the regional and international levels, and regularly participates in local, regional, and international conferences. Furthermore, he has several published research papers in local, regional, and international journals, and he publishes some articles in prestigious international newspapers and websites such as "Al-Hewar Al-Mutamaddin" and "Al-Rai Al-Dawliya" newspaper. He also has his own website where he publishes his research work, and he shares his work on research platforms such as "Academia," "ResearchGate," and "ARID Scientific
External Activities
Mr. Hussein Mrgin has multiple contributions in scientific external activities. He is a member of the Arab Council for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in the Arab Universities Federation, and he is also a member of the Arab Council for Social Sciences. Additionally, he holds the position of Secretary-General of the Arab Association for Social Sciences and Humanities and is a member of the Arab World Institute for Education Development. Furthermore, he is a member of the Higher Scientific Committee for Arab Impact Factors Laboratories and participates in the International Academic Campaign against Occupation and Apartheid.Moreover, Mr. Hussein Mrgin has served as an editorial board member for Al-Balqa Journal at Al-Ahliyya Amman University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Currently, he works as a reviewer for Imran Journal of Social Sciences and is also an editorial board member for the Journal of Social Change at Mohamed Khider University in Biskra, Algeria. Additionally, he has participated as a member in the committee for evaluating the general framework of the Arab Strategy for Social, Cultural, and Economic Research, under the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science. He is also a member of the Research Ethics Committee for Social and Human Sciences in the same Arab organization.
