Abstract

Mechanical milling of pre-alloyed Ti--47.5Al--3Cr (at.%) powder has been carried out in a vibratory mill. The microstructural evolution of the materials was studied as a function of milling time. An ultrafine microstructure was produced with crystallite size of approx 15 nm and partial amorphization was obtained after 2 h of milling
