Abstract
ABSTRACT This article aims to identify the reality of scientific research and the strategy used for scientific research at the University of Tripoli, measuring its impact on the presence of technical and material capabilities on economic growth, and furnishing a vision for this research that supports economic growth within Libya based on the research results. To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive analytical method is used by distributing (50) questionnaires to faculty members at the University of Tripoli from various faculties and using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences “SPSS 23” program. The findings indicate a statistically significant impact on the reality of scientific research and its relationship to economic growth. It is also found that the university suffers from the fact that research is not directly linked to the requirements of economic development in its industrial, agricultural and service sectors and that it does not keep pace with the leading countries in the area of scientific research that use its tools for economic growth. This is due to several reasons, including a scarcity of electronic research references that keep pace with modern technology, a shortage of institutions capable of transferring and disseminating knowledge, and the lack of research centers, which in turn help researchers in research development that reflects economic growth. Given the previous findings, this article recommends providing capabilities that support university researchers and developing the scientific output of scientific research, creating a central plan for scientific research at the university level to benefit from the research output in economic growth, documenting research papers, seminars, and scientific conferences in databases, investing in distinguished research results, and encouraging entrepreneurs to activate them
